Achilles rupture or repair? Stay on the move while your tendon heals.
The Freedom Leg is a hands-free crutch. Your weight rests on the back of your thigh and your foot stays off the ground, even with your foot pointed down in the boot.

Common questions
My foot is pointed down in my boot. Will it still fit?
Yes. For Achilles repairs the brace is set up with the foot pointed downward. Our fitting guide and Sophie walk you through it.
When can I start using it?
When your surgeon says you can be up and moving without putting weight on the foot.
Start with short practice sessions of 10 to 15 minutes. You need good balance and upper-body strength; the brace is tested to 300 lb.
Can I use it on stairs?
Yes. You can take the stairs with both hands free to hold the railing. Watch how to walk on stairs first.
Does insurance pay for it?
We can't bill insurance, but we email you an invoice with the HCPCS code (L2136) to submit with a prescription. Plans vary; some customers have been reimbursed. HSA and FSA cards work.
What if it doesn't work for me?
Request a return within 14 days of delivery. The return steps are in our FAQ.
Not sure it's right for you? Ask Sophie.
The Freedom Leg is a mobility aid, not a treatment. Your surgeon or care team decides when you can be up and how much weight your foot can take. Request a return within 14 days of delivery if it isn't right for you.
